DfE Updated (30.04.2020): School behaviour and attendance: parental responsibility measures
Statutory guidance for schools, local authorities and the police on dealing with poor attendance and behaviour in schools.
Update reads: Updated to reflect changes made under the Coronavirus Act 2020 concerning school attendance and parental responsibility measures. It temporarily disapplies offences relating to the failure of parents to secure regular attendance at school of a registered pupil. Parents can be sure that they will not be prosecuted or receive a criminal conviction by not sending their children to school.
